Last Friday, the Warriors traveled to Henry County to take on the Eagle’s Landing Eagles. It was a match-up of top 10 teams as the Eagles were ranked #6 and the Warriors #7. The Grove jumped out to a 26-14 first quarter lead, but the Eagles responded with a huge 2nd quarter, outscoring WG 23-6 to take a 37-32 advantage to the locker room. Behind the hot shooting of freshman guard Chris Hood, Eagle’s Landing was able to keep the Warriors at bay in the second half, winning 69-61.
Last night, Walnut Grove dropped another sub-region contest to the Henry County Warhawks, falling 84-68. Junior Damion Rosser lead the Warhawks with 36 points. Faizon Jackson paced the Warriors with 21 points, followed by AJ Jones with 16.
With the back to back losses, Walnut Grove is now 17-3 overall, and 3-2 in the sub-region. We return to action Friday night at Hampton.
